This house was built in 1932 by architect Arnas Funkas was till 1971 the home of art-historian, museologist, pedagogue Paulius Galaune (1890-1988) and opera singer Adelė Nezabitauskaitė-Galaunienė (1899-1962).
The museum was founded in 1966 in the artist Antanas Žmuidzinavičius (1876-1966) house: works by A. Žmuidzinavičius, collections of Lithuanian folk art and his famous collection of devils.
