On the ground floor you will find the hall of non-permanent exhibitions, the butterfly collection of V.Vaskius arranged in the lobby, while in the hall of permanent exposition you will learn about the material and spiritual culture of Southern Lithuania.

On mounting up the stairs to the upper floor, in the lobby you will recognize the instruments for flax treatment, the motley cloths of Dzukai women, while in the hall of permanent exposition you will find out how much the Lithuanian people had to endure in their fight for the freedom of the country. On opening the door a the end of the corridor, you will look around a Dzukai cottage of beginning of the 20 c.

You will see nowhere else but here authentic privileges ancient documents on veals skin, carefully restored foliated pouches dating back the 16 c. a clay money-box that is 300 years old, the treasure of shillings of King Jonas Kazimieras, a wooden bicycle, a horse-cloth, an enormous sledge-hammer for removing slag a great variety of photographs from the life of ulans- cavalrymen of the Lithuanian army and a pot from which they ate porridge, remains of a blasted bunker of Lithuanian guerrillas, a cart made without a single nail.

After you have looked round the exposition, make your judgment as to how the works of contemporary artists match the antiquities: "Gabija" by A.Judickas, "The stone Age at the Nemunas River" by K.Balcikonis, "The Pilenai" by J.Mackonis, "A Dzukai Farmstead at the Rumsiskis Museum under the Open Air" by V.Stanionis.

The items that you are interested in are not at a display? There are too few of them? Try to find them at the hall of the open funds, only don't forget to write a request to the Director of the Museum.
